My Work, Our Work
The messages I have received about work have been many and mixed. They range from Howard Thurman’s “Don’t ask yourself what the world needs” to people asking “What do you do?” when they first meet me, from the tangled history of work in our country to my father telling me “Go to college, get a good job.”
I hope that sharing my evolving perspectives on labor, work, dignity and value can contribute to our perceptions of “good work.”
