I’m really glad to have the UUCC website back up and running. I struggled for two months to understand why I lost all the files and couldn’t get them back. Our hosting service, (Network Solutions), displayed a list of back-up dates on their back end, and when I activated the latest “supposed” backup, it returned the message, “backup completed”. When I returned to the live website, all data was gone, erased, never to be seen again. I received a “no such site exists-error, code 500” message, or words to that effect. I was shocked! This can’t be right.
I called Network Solutions, helpline (somewhere in the Philippines) and I had to purchase a $65 MyTime Support ticket which entitles me to one month of help from a “supposed” engineer, and after 2 weeks of on-the-phone-time, they still couldn’t help me get the site back. Darn, now what do I do?
Well, I’ve been dealing with Network Solutions for so long now and the Church’s invoices were getting higher and higher, so with the churches permission, we decided to change hosting services. They suggested Ionos. I never heard of them, but when I called them to transfer the domain, I was talking to an American. Thank God!. Long story short. As soon as the 5 day domain transfer completed, I was back up and running with just the guts of the website. I took another 5 days to complete what you see now. i think I’ve learned a lesson.
