Though Trump’s “Muslim Ban” is federal policy, it was foreshadowed by the rise of state and local anti-Muslim policies that have fostered an environment of Islamophobic bigotry. What’s happening in the DMV that we all need to know about? What is happening nationally with local significance? How can we be even more awesome and effective in putting our faith and values into practice at this time? Join UUSC staff for a lively strategy lunch with clergy, social justice staff, and lay-leaders from the DMV area. Let’s learn from one another about steps we have taken or can take to build solidarity with Muslim communities and counter negative policies. We’ll also strategize together about how elements of the national UU Love Resists campaign can support what you are doing. Please RSVP by noon October 17th. We need to know whether we can count on you as we are making table reservations.  REPLY HERE: https://goo.gl/forms/OL1drTZaEgXH4E292.
